I learned a few things about death & funeral arrangements:
1) When my father passed away in our home, hospice was there and handled everything for me with complete professionalism, care & compassion. Just as if she were family. Thank you Charlene!
2) When hospice is involved, you don't call 911, and police do not get involved.
3) Also with hospice involved, they made all the phone calls to the doctor, the funeral home, etc., for me.
4) The funeral home that I used was absolutely wonderful in making the phone call to Social Security to notify them of his passing, the union hall that was responsible for paying the funeral expenses, and the VA Administration representative that helped me complete all the necessary paperwork for his VA death benefits & widowed spouse benefits.
But with all of this help, I still can't bring myself to clean out his bedroom, closet, etc. But there's no need to hurry!
I miss my Dad everyday!!!!
