Update . . . .

I don't even remember the last time I was on here, but I know it was before Daddy died 12/15/2010.

Update: Mother and I have decided to sell the house for sure this time. It went on the market in September 2011, and we've had 2 lookers to-date. My dilemma now, if the house sells, do we buy another house, or do we move into an Assisted Living community? I can not come up with the perfect solution! Each has it's own pros and cons, 50/50.

I wish I had someone to help me make the decision.

Welcome back . . . .

I know, it's been a long time since I've been on here, but things have been haywire around here. I've gone back to work part time, Tuesday through Friday afternoons only for just a few hours, but I'm enjoying getting out of the house and socializing a little bit.

And, we're going to sell the house, for real this time. It's just too much house for just mother and me. The utility bills are overwhelming us because the VA won't get their butt in gear and give her the widowed spouse benefit that she's allowed. But I have Oklahoma Senator Inhofe on the case now!! So maybe something will get done.

Lord help me . . .

. . . to keep my mouth shut!!  We have no air conditioning in the house right now and the repairman can't come out until tomorrow afternoon, so I'm a little irritable and not in the best mood that I could be, and certain things are raking on my nerves, i.e., the other person in the house. I've learned during these past 6 months, after my father passed away, that sometimes parents and children shouldn't live together after the ages of 50 (child) & 70 (parent). So for some of you out there that are considering this, look way down deep inside yourself and make sure that you can cope with the differences in personalities of ALL individuals in your household. We love our parents, but that doesn't always mean that we can live with them again after 30+ years.

M&Ms are good therapy . . .

One of my BFFs, Christie, invited me to her Sunday afternoon M&M (movie and mexican/margaritas), which I decided to partake. I didn't make it to the movie, but did get to join the girls (12 of them) at the mexican restaurant. Lots of laughter, joking, etc. Plus, mother was okay with me leaving her alone for a few hours so that I could have some "me" time, and I brought dinner back for her too.
